Nova Scotia Tartan Ornament

We engraved Nova Scotia Tartan into white ash as the background for this ornament (I had to sketch the tartan by hand in order to make this work), the result is that you can feel the texture of the ‘fabric’ when you run your fingers over the surface. We placed a map of Nova Scotia over the tartan with a star locating Halifax as the capital city, and then placed a passport stamp with Nova Scotia Canada as the highlight. We have also attached a royal blue grosgrain ribbon to match the blue of our tartan. There are many layers of meaning in the little emblem of Nova Scotia.
